Sherie Sloane
Yoga Teacher & Mindfulness Mentor

Sherie is an Experienced Yoga Alliance Certified Teacher E-RYT® with RYT® 500 Teaching Hours and a Continuing Education Provider YACEP with over 6,000 teaching hours. Always a student first, Sherie has been practicing on and off her mat for seventeen years. Having no previous athletic background and other flexibility-focused sports growing up, she found yoga to be challenging.  Instead of giving up, Sherie took the challenge as an inspiration to further deepen her practice, devoting time, learning from Master Teachers, self-study and patience.  Aside from learning the technicalities of yoga postures and philosophies, her immersion in the practice taught her self-discipline, patience and most importantly, being present.

Over a decade of career in finance, keeping an active lifestyle (running, swimming, biking, martial arts), parenting and sports injuries didn’t stop her from a consistent practice. After getting injured in Tae kwon do, yoga helped her to recover emotionally and physically, get back into it, and soon became a 2nd Degree Black Belt Martial Artist.  She heeded the calling to become a yoga teacher to share the healing and physical benefits of yoga to others, as she experienced herself.   During the pandemic in 2020, she took it as an opportunity to dedicate her time to study more about Vibrational Sound Healing and also became certified as a Pilates teacher.  Her classes are a lively mix of balance, strength and flexibility, focusing on alignment, breathing and mindfulness.  Sherie teaches Hatha, Vinyasa, Ashtanga, Iyengar Wall Ropes/ Kurunta, Budokon, Power Yoga and Pilates.  She is also a Meditation, Yoga Nidra, Reiki Healer, and Creative Therapy Guide, Yoga Teacher Trainee Mentor, Wellness Coach, Prenatal and Kids Yoga Teacher.  She has trained, practiced and still studies with Master Teachers from around the world.

Sherie is also a visual artist/painter. Merging her passions for both art and yoga, she started Painted Yoga™ to inspire creativity and encourage others to express and rediscover themselves through art and the practice of yoga. One of a kind canvas painting is created using the body and the practice of yoga as art media.

Showing them that just like art, yoga don’t have to be perfect, that’s why it’s called a ‘practice’. And a beautiful, awakening practice that is.
